Common questions, answered.
How long does it take to go live?
Minutes, not weeks. Log into your Signal tenancy on the web or mobile app, register and plug in your gateway, add a tag, and you're on the live map. Most customers set up their first site in an afternoon.
Do I need an IT team to run Signal?
No. Signal runs in the cloud, so there's nothing to install or maintain. We handle the platform, the updates and the uptime. Your team uses the app like any other web or mobile tool.
What kinds of assets can I track?
Anything a BLE tag can attach to: trolleys, trailers, tools, stock, drip stands, cages, IT kit. For environmental monitoring, anywhere a sensor can live: fridges, storerooms, labs, plant rooms, data halls. You can also fit an environmental sensor to the asset itself and track its location and its conditions, temperature and humidity, together.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, every account is protected by multi-factor authentication, and each organisation gets its own isolated tenancy. Every user action lands in a tamper-evident activity log, so there's always a record of who did what, and when.
What happens if a gateway or tag fails?
Device status is shown live in the app, so if a gateway or tag goes offline you'll see it straight away. From there our friendly support team will help you get it back online, or replace it under warranty if it turns out to be faulty.
